Applying for housing

IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO ST ALBANS DISTRICT COUNCIL

St Albans District Council are changing the way new housing and transfer applicants join the Housing Register. As a result we are no longer processing applications made via this website.

If you want to make a new application for housing you can do this from May 2019. In order to establish your priority date please email StAlbans.HomeChoice@stalbans.gov.uk confirming that you wish to make an application. You will be contacted when you are able to complete your application and our new website is active.

We will advise you when our new website is active. Emergency self-referrals can still be made via St Albans DC website www.stalbans.gov.uk.

If you have a current application you can still view this and make bids on properties accordingly.

IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO THREE RIVERS DISTRICT COUNCIL OR WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL, YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY THROUGH THE HOME CONNECTIONS WEBSITE.

The Three Rivers Housing Register Application Form can be found HERE.

The Watford Housing Register Application Form can be found HERE.

If you are applying to another Herts Choice Homes local authority, you are required to complete a brief pre assessment questionnaire after which you will be presented with a personal Action Plan outlining your most suitable housing options.

If 'Social housing' is one of those options, you will then be invited to proceed to complete an application to the council you have selected. The Questionnaire will take around ten minutes to complete and can be accessed here.

You can complete an application that you have already started by clicking on the link below:
